One of the best investments you can make in your wardrobe is a statement jacket. This leather jacket I scored from Zara looks like it could have come from a high-end brand like Acne or AllSaints. Instead I got it on sale and have never been able to find one like it for much under $1000.
A jacket like this one is an important piece of your wardrobe. While you can get statement jackets in bold colors and trendy cuts, they won’t survive the test of time in the turbulence of fashion trends. For it to occupy that permanent space in your wardrobe you’ll want to stick with neutral colors and more traditional silhouettes. This cut here is the tried and true moto cut that looks chic whether it’s from 1970 or 2016. My favorite part about this piece is that the studs elevate any look to the next level. I love that I can throw it over a basic tee and jeans and it takes the outfit from blah to interesting. That’s the beauty of a true statement jacket.
