One of my favorite signs of Spring is that I can swap out my heavy winter coat for a trench coat. I love the details of a good trench coat; double-breasted, shoulder epaulets, gun flap, and storm shield. There’s quite a rich history behind the trench coat as it was originally designed by Thomas Burberry as part of the uniform issued to the British Army during WWI. It was during the trench warfare that the iconic coat got its name – the trench coat. Today, thanks to Burberry’s inspiration, you can get trench coats in all styles and colors. I like this one by Michael Kors for the gold details and olive-tan color.
