Spain Travel Guide: Mallorca and Valencia

After 10 days of exploring Madrid and Barcelona we were ready for a respite and Mallorca was the perfect place. It is the most beautiful place I have ever been! Around every bend is another cove with a tranquil beach and turquoise water.

The island has a lot of caves and hiking you can do but we just rested. We read on the beach and took walks and basically just stared at the beautiful water. We stayed at the Hostal San Fransisco which was beautiful, served breakfast, and each room had its own little balcony. You really can’t go wrong here.

Mallorca

After Mallorca we headed to Valencia for a day to try authentic paella! Thankfully the owner of the hostel we stayed at was kind enough to recommend a great local place called Restaurante Levante :). Normally you have to order a day ahead but he assured us this place didn’t require that. It was so delicious! We had the veggie one but you can get all kinds of seafood, etc.

I highly recommend staying at Russafa Youth Hostel. The owner is fantastic! He will recommend great places to eat and what to see based on how much time you have. On Mondays there is a large outdoor market right outside the hostel that is really fun to explore. The hostel also serves breakfast on the top floor with great views of the neighborhood.
